You'll be surprised how secure these need to be in the wind. I fitted mine the same way initially until the wind damaged the floor trying to pull the RivNuts out. Ended up using the lashing eyes and T Track to secure. Using the same method of securing for the Foxwing nowCDS wrote:Got mine on the D3 this evening - no pics cos it was toooooooooooo dark, but it's looking good. As sturdy as it needs to be with the rivnuts into the expo floor

Re: Group Buy- 2mtr Side Awning
I thought you didn't get one on the group buy Jase?
In any case I'll see how it goes - if needs be I will reinforce the floor from underneath and bolt it on that way. I probably won't use it if it really windy anyway as I'd rather sit int he nice warm car on those days

Dutchy, that was a lovely pint, is it only available locally to you?
And I've just read the back of the bottle

Re: Group Buy- 2mtr Side Awning
I've just ordered 3 packs of these - hopefully that will be enoughCobblers wrote:I mounted onto the rails using a few packs of Thule TU872 Aerobar adapters, like these :-

These fit into the track on the rail, once the rubber insert is removed. These were M6 sized, so used standard M6 nuts and fitted the the brackets supplied with the awning.
