Stu - you will find plenty of places around the Costa Brava and Costa del Maresme.

My preference would be del Maresme area as it is not as touristy as Costa Brava. There's nice beaches that are not as busy (but any beach will be busy at weekends); lots to do and see in the region; Barcelona is easy to reach by train or car; you are on the doorstep of some areas designated as natrional parks (eg Montseny).

Take a look here for ideas and info.

(And if you do choose that area, would you be able to sneak away for a day...? Just to go and see some of the scenery...you know, via some interesting routes... )

Nick, good to see you, I was only saying to mrs Stu earlier that i'd not seen you around and I needed to get in touch. Are you going to the next SAM?

Hi Stu, When is the next SAM?

Nick, Thursday 7th. Although I'm in Rochdale that day so not sure if I will make it, but I'll probably fly up so I'll try and get a reasonable flight back.
