Update:

i have recently started to fit a gas powered hot air heating system for the tent. Well this is Ireland, my plan is that i will be able to start camping sooner in the year and end later, all with a degree of comfort.

I am using a Propex 1600w unit, basically you feed it with fresh air/12v/gas and it outputs hot air. it will run from the onboard fitted gas tank and the hot air will exit the back of the trailer through a 2.5" pipe into the tent anex from there i am relying on the laws or thermodynamics for the air to rise into the upstairs tent. there is a digital thermostat in the tent to control the actual temp in the tent and to switch the unit on and off.

so far i have the unit mounted wired and the gas piped up, the air intake is finished just waiting for some pipe for the outlet. it is tested and working, just haven't opened the tent yet to fit the thermostat etc. oddly due to the rain !!!

Great minds Chris. I've got a Webasto night heater from a written off truck, 'twas one of the yards old shunters. Not sure which direction I'm going towards fitting, but I have the kit at least

Dam it , had to move one of the batteries to get the heat output pipe in, i hate that when you have to take it all out just to put it back in. Still its' done now, thermostat in the tent next.

the wiring of the digital thermostat
Why doesn;t it surprise me that you made it more technical, complicated and of course effective than anybody else would've done

Err Chris, you've wired in the thermostat already in the trailer..... It's built into the control box :thumbright:

yes but don't you know one isn't enough for me, i have disabled the temp sensor in the stock thermostat so that i can use the digital one in the tent, There is some timing and safety stuff in the stock one so i used it to make life easy
