Suspension fault

Post by anglefire » Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:56 pm

Latest fault occurred today :headbang: :headbang:

Just driving along, normal roads not bumpy or anything and bong, suspension fault.

Read the codes and cleared them, but the transfer box one won't clear.

VIN: xxxxx
Vehicle scanned on 21-02-2015 13:17
Using IIDTool BT V3.0 B1933

Auxilary Heater

U1A44-6C (2E) Fuel level
Body Control

B1D17-87 (2F) Siren Circuit - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message
U0155-87 (28) Lost communication with instrument cluster control module - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message
Suspension

C1A75-1C (2E) Rear right height sensor mechanism - General electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range
C1A06-1C (AF) Rear right height sensor - General electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range
Transfer Case

U0132-86 (2F) Lost communication with ride level control module - Bus signal/message failure - signal is invalid
Vehicle Dynamic

U0421-68 (0B) Invalid data received from ride level control module - Algorithm based failure - event information

Some obviously aren't relavent.

Recorded the live values over a 10mile drive and the rear values were almost always the same - biggest difference I've seen being 2mm but mostly identical. Which seems wrong. The fronts were all over the place.

The fronts are also quite a bit different when stationary

It will still go into off-road height and access height.

Lastly, we were parked by the sea at westward ho! having lunch, and I got out and the car dropped to the deck. Ignition key out. It did go back up when I restarted the car.

When I looked the other week it was dry as a bone.

And I've not done anything since to change its status. Unless unplugging it upset it.

Coz driving down the Devonish lanes there is no way the back end was that stable - grass down the middle of some.

A sample of the log.

I actually think the column headings are wrong.
It's actually front left, right and rear left, right

I've ripped those values into an easier to read table.
I agree; there's no way the back wheels are identical, so the question is, is that an IID software fault reporting the same back wheel twice or your ECU deciding that one of the back wheel height sensors is shot and so is assuming the other sides value to "fill in the data gap with an informed guess"

Mark, drive it in TTM and you will see the values almost constantly change, but in normal mode, you would be surprised, they don't change that often.
I was watching the valves open and close and there is a huge amount of activity in ttm but not so much in normal.
