Re: memory map - why is it soooo hard!!!

Outdoors GPS is the way forward :-) The maps are expensive and now as flexible as MM but the app is a 1000% better, and all route planning can either be done free online (and then downloaded through the app) or you can record as you go. I thoroughly recommend it for iOS users I can't get on with MM...

Re: Memory Map

Found the best way of getting routes onto iPad MM especially for groups is to use Dropbox app using GPX format, just import one route at a time as the route name often gets dropped, makes it easier to name in MM. Getting maps on was easy enough, just drag & drop in iTunes from a map disk (whether of...

Re: Kielder safari

Think All Terrain Tours are doing North Wales that weekend. George (GSLRO on the other side) has been asked to do the navigating for them. Might be worth a look.... :thumbright:

Re: Vulcan to be grounded from next year

It gave me a hell of a surprise last month when I was pottering about in the paddock, heard a large aircraft & looked up to see the Vulcan flying low along the ridge line of Rudland Rigg! A fantastic sight! Shouted to the rest of the family but no one was around to see it.......

Re: Kielder safari

I went on the Kielder Safari a couple of weeks ago. Personally, I found it rather tame, I could have driven the route in my Trafic in all but a couple of spots. No issues with scratched paint. Having said that one of the guys I went with told tales of multiple cars stuck & tricky lanes on a past vis...

Expo Rack & Ladder

I think a mesh floor with a track system would be the ideal. I asked if I could get D3 roof rails fitted to the centre rails of the Prospeed rack when I ordered it. Ben was rather reluctant as he didn't think the rails would conform to the lengthwise curve of the tubes so they are welding flush bos...

Sand ladders & diagnostics etc

Pete Bell normally has a stock of FCR's. I'd have a look at the IDS II tool as well if you cannot run to an MSV2. It looks to be half way between the two. You adjust settings using the on-dash display, allows you to increase suspension heights & a few other bits & pieces that may be useful on a long...
