What Annoyed me Today.......
Buying some kit from a major supplier and having a technical issue with it and they not knowing how to solve it - subsequently solved it internally.
Thinking of offering them a training course to them on how to set their kit up.

I have the same Mark. This is the reason I travel the country so much, I'm used as a trouble-shooter by a very well known boiler manufacturer. In fact, the day we did the auto-box flushes at Richards, i was down that way because I was training one of their engineers on one of their boilers, which they make

Re: What Annoyed me Today.......
I wouldn't mind, but the units cost £1500 each - and we are installing 8 of them to replace another bit of kit that they can't support - and find that the new units are set up to only support their own meters (Its a data logger) - but via a hidden web page you can enable 3rd party modules - which their technical department didn't know about
Once I knew that, the rest was easy enough.
I'm very used to solving problem technical issues - I've even done stuff which I was told couldn't be done on the normal controllers I use, by people with a lot more experience than me!

Could be worse - I'm convinced Cisco deliberately make their software :censored: and difficult to use purely so they can sell their qualifications.
I bought a wifi access point for around £750 and when we couldn't make it work - Cisco's official response was "you shouldn't have bought it if you don't know how to use it - no, we won't support you". At this point I find it necessary to point out that I used to teach a 5 day TCP/IP course and several other highly technical networking courses so I like to think I know what I'm talking about when it comes to this stuff but I still couldn't make the thing work!

Re: What Annoyed me Today.......
Dragging up an old thread but.
I’ve got a new works laptop. Which isn’t the problem, but the software is in that I used to have M$ Access 2010 which I used a lot for pivot charts to plot lots of data against time - the time being down to 15minute intervals so I average it to an hour or day - all done in seconds.
Unfortunately it couldn’t pull my licence code from the old laptop and install it on my new laptop. So was looking at access 2016 which I have at home and have found the feature missing. And apparently missing since 2013.
The “solution “ is to use excel or Power BI - but I can’t get the data granulation I need. Or I’ve not found a way yet. Excel will display down to a day but not go in further to hours or minutes. Power BI will display the data graphically down to minutes, but won’t display the date below a month.
To say I’m frustrated is an understatement.

Well, I sort of agree - but M$ have removed a previously very useful feature - and although its added to excel, I can't get it to do what I need. Seems lots of people are in the same boat - and M$ don't give a stuff and just want you to buy more complicated solutions! Or offer another solution that is not as good.

Lovely - sounds as barrel of laughs Ben!
Well, apart from driving back from Herefordshire this morning, I had a tinker with the Spitfire - and replaced the radiator overflow pipe with one of the correct length - the old one came off the filler cap - which is also the pressure relief - and into a small expansion bottle. The pipe ie meant to go nearly to the bottom so that when the water expands and goes into the bottle, it is drawn back into the radiator when it cools again. Mine was short, so was sucking air back in

tinkering with the spitfire sounds fun compared to this evening.... sitting doing all the end of month crappy reports for more stupid meetings ... and the new tool isnt logging data . I fixed the power circuit but the computer side isnt my bag as you know
