Bye bye Brandy buttons...

Post by Bodsy » Mon Jul 30, 2018 5:49 pm

So some of you know our dog has been poorly over the last few weeks. Lost weight, no appetite or when eating, throwing up a few hours later.

Lately been struggling to stand in the mornings but then other mornings walks fine.

Took her to the vet today and at about 12-1/2 years old (may be older but rescue dog so unsure), we’re not sure if tumour or something similar, but certainly deteriorating to a low level of life. Difficulty going to toilet etc.

So we made the tough decision to say goodbye today.
It’s never ever an easy decision and we’re all devastated, but really we know it was the right call.

So Brandy buttons (not a kennel dog name!) joins Princess Barbie Butterfly (Hannah’s cat of a few years ago) in travelling over Rainbow Bridge and beyond.

We will get another dog (maybe two now the kids are growing up). But not yet, too raw yet.

RIP BB. Know what you’re going through as we lost Sam in May.

Sorry to hear the news Bodsy. Never had a dog, but did have cats as a kid.

Had a good life with you, Emma and the kids. :thumbright:

Sorry to hear this, Bodsy. Heartbreaking when it happens but I still have very good memories of my dogs, as I know you will of Brandy too.

I thought that was happy ;) .... tbh any physical contact appreciated after 18 years of marriage

I still miss the old dear hound, and to be fair the old greyhound before him they kind of never leave you memory dogs it must be their unconditional love they give

Sorry for your loss Bods, always hits hard but eased by knowing it was the right thing to do as your final gift.
Shame we still have so much hassle doing this for the people we love too, though with some of the scheming gits I've met in my life I can understand why we cannot.
