My iPhone connects via Bluetooth to the Parrot in the D3 but I've been looking for something in the D1 and this looks just the job. I use the iPhone to play audiobooks or dramas I've
downloaded in Iplayer radio

I've got a couple of USB sockets on a 4 gang ext to the cigar lighter socket but not sure what voltage they supply

Might have to look for a new Parrot then! Will the audio leads I've got be ok or will they need changing as well. Ie is it a straight swap of the control unit?

I bought a Bluetooth receiver that goes into the aux and is USB powered: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013U6NFDY

As it starts up automatically when I start the engine (more times than not) I don't need to mess about with pairing it. The volume level is very good, when you remember to keep it turned up on the phone, and the quality has been great, very little in the way of missed packets. It even start playing from where I left off (the recent iOS changes that intelligently predict what you want to do, with which apps and when have become very good in recent releases)

The phone also still Bluetooth connects to the car for calls. Although on odd occasions in-coming calls have not gone to the LR audio, but to this instead.

For £14 I thought it worth a punt and I have been impressed so far. I'm sure these things are getting better over time, so this will make do for now.

Looks a great bit of kit for the money given your experience with it

I bought the under £3 version from EBlag and connected it to the radio Aux in the D1 - works a treat with my iPhone. Well pleased - it paired itself immediately

Phil, do you have a separate Bluetooth phone kit in the D1 as well? Does it still work with that for calls?

I'm pretty sure the iPhone can't do 2 simultaneous BT connections - a lot of the Androids can - my S4 pairs with the car phone and my IID tool, though the amount of data the IID streams is probably too much in reality (I've never had a call at the same time  )

I looked into this for printer. The iPhone can apparently do two Bluetooth connections, but not if they are the same type of connection, i.e audio.

Not tried it yet as printer is not here yet.
