I'd set my air suspension height higher to achieve the same, but these are easier TBH... (and cheaper than a Faultmate!)

I`ve seen these rods, `in the flesh`, and can vouch for their quality. A lot of thought and research has gone into these. It is easy to make the shorter rods as per Johnson etc but to make these which give both ride heights in an instant is very slick.

If running in extended mode for any length of time then you'll need a full wheel alignment.
Try to avoid going into super super extended.
Ive not damaged my car or heard of anyone else damaging thiers with shortened rods but I dare say someone may twist something one day!!
No issues with CV joints that we've experienced. Just be aware that you are taking your vehicle outside it's delivered tolerances but there's lots of people doing this without problems.
