If you scratch to coating the bare metal will surface rust, it's nothing unexpected.

No dents Biskit! Just scratched! Not bothered that they have scratches just thought they were treated to prevent rust, but hey ho, out with the hammerite it is! Also managed to knacker the grip tape lol

They are treated to prevent rust but if it scratches off then the rust protection is gone.
Like I said, if anyone knows a non scratch proof rust proof coating let me know, we'll be millionaires!!

The sweat from your hand is enough to start rust on bare metal, so it's inevitable that a scratch on a slider will start off the rust. Make sure a good dab of that rust eater goes on 1st, and then it will hold it off for developing further :thumbright:

Yep, there's that Hammerite stuff that you brush on and let it chemically eat into the rust then when it dries you can paint over it.
