The smaller shackles will just about go through a normal car recovery eye. Although again ISTR that it is only the pin that will fit through. I can't remember too much as I've only done it once and that we to pull a young girl of a small bank when she got her supra beached.

I've a couple of shacles off Slippery which are quite big - and one from Machine mart which I think are rated at 4ish tonnes _ also have a small one for peasent cars :thumbright:

Hi Dom,

As Stu said , only the pin fit the rear eye. If you have caravan electrics, especially the twin 7 pin plugs , this can quite awkward.
I think the problem will also apply to the larger shackle.

The 4.75 Machinemart ones fit through the front and rear recovery points, and the 3.25 ones fit through most normal car recovery points :thumbright:
