Birthday Bash 2015
Last night I made an announcement to all the club members that were at the Christmas meal, and today im making the same announcement to everyone.
In 2015 the club will celebrate its 5th birthday. I cant really believe that it is already more than 5 yearsago that I managed to pusade a few other idiots that this club idea was viable. I guess it was because we had a few meetings in the pub!
Anyway by this time 5 years ago we were already on our way with the idea and we launched the club in April 2010.
So as we will be 5 next year we have been discussing the idea of a Birthday Bash!
Its still in the early stages but a rough idea will be a weekend or long weekend of events and activities for everyone.
Im sure there will be some off roading and probably some challenges as well, but maybe some other non D3 events. Ideas so far have been:
Caravan / Camping weekend (ideally with a b&b nearby) with off roading and then maybe, quad biking, archery, maybe a live band on one evening and maybe fireworks?
We have looked at a couple of locations so far, one is ruled out because of the cost, the other looks good, but it down south (well North to me! Its in Andover - which means Salisbury plain is also an option), so it would be interesting to hear what people think of locations and also of ideas for the event.
If anyone wouldl ike to help organise the event the please let me know.
Ill post more as more gets sorted, but i hope people think its a good idea and are keen to take part, and even be part of the planning!

I know its good for you, but what about all the Northern folk like Bodsy?
Seriously though, would people be willing to travel if a Southern venue is deemed to be the best option?
Anyone got any suggestions for anywhere else?

I've used all my passport stamps for coming down south for the next 12 months
Imagine a world with no hypothetical situations..........

You say that like its a negative point. Sounds all positive to me. There's a reason we have passport controls you know!

Re: Birthday Bash 2015
I would be more than happy with the travel, but the Midlands has another 60 miles on me!
Having a think and chat about anything further north with some groups but Andover with the plains in distance is likely the pic of the crop.
I suspect there will be more aggressive places (pay and play sites), but I suspect that will exclude some people, whereas the relative tameness of salisbury won't out anyone off...

I think the aim of the weekend will be to be as inclusive as possible for everyone, even people who don't want to off road.

happy with anywhere if its a long weekend traveling doesn't put me off.
phasels wood scout site hires to outside groups has loads of activities onsite too but not a lot for off roaring nearby.
or theres a farm type place in wales I've heard of which has its own off road area and allow private hire and camping….

Location will be fine wherever as long as it's not Jockistan.
We'd bring the Tintent and the lad so family friendly places are good. Happy to help organise anything which would be helpful too.
