The only thing I would say is that most of the points that were at the end were discussion points and not actually motions. These can be raised at anytime, by any member. I agree about not rushing things but on a personal level I think 2 hours is enough. I go to a lot of AGM's and most are an hour. We want to encourage people to the AGM, I think long meetings put people off. Maybe a shorter meeting and more of a social?

I don't think Gaydon was as much as £200, but Rich can probably clarify.

I think that's great value, we get a room, entry to the museum and the land rover heritage for £108! Much better than the back room of a pub in my opinion. Entry to the museum is £11 normally so another benefit for members and I'm sure the venue influenced peoples decision to attend.

Agree Stu but most cars used over £30 of fuel to get there and back, some people more I'm sure

I'll leave it there :thumbright:

If we were a local Mud Club and all of our members lived in Essex for example, a suitable venue would have been found in the middle of the County somewhere so that all those attending would have had about the same amount of traveling. However, our membership is far more widespread than that and realistically, whatever venue had been found some of those attending would have had to travel much further than others.

The fact that so many made the trip to Gaydon today for our AGM. suggests that it's location and the thinking behind holding it at the Heritage Centre wasn't wildly inappropriate. Additionally, thanks to XTC., the cost to the Club for the use of such a prestige venue was very reasonable by any standard.

Thinking ahead, we have 12 months to find an appropriate venue for next April's AGM. and there's no reason why the Committee shouldn't start considering suitable suggestions from now onwards. Perhaps a small prize could be awarded to the member who comes up with the venue that's used (Club mug or bear perhaps Gary??!) :thumbright:

Anyone would think you were fed up with the Gary! I suggest we extend it to any club member who comes up with the venue though, it doesnt need to be a committee member.

I thought the venue was an excellent find and a big thank you to XTC in securing it, at that price it represents excellent value for money, I think it speaks volumes for the people that have got all this up & running that we held it prestige site.
I personally have no gripes about the distance involved.

All very friendly and amusing in part, a bit rushed at the end and could have done with being shorter but we did have numerous issues to work through in our fist year.

Well done to everyone...... :thumbright:

Yes absolutely. As I said above, "Perhaps a small prize could be awarded to the member who comes up with the venue that's used " :thumbright:

Looking at this from an outsider, This club is National now and not basically localised in its early days. Every member knows of a location either for a AGM or Event, budget accordingly really is the only answer.

LR nostalgia speaks for itself on this Venue, and the Venue was pretty central to y'all
