Spent £1129 on getting the handbrake sorted.
New module etc plus several hours work.
Ouch!.

Details man, details?

OK not a D3 but surviving Disco is ready for Road Trip 2018, Last Trip To The Top, in 3 weeks. Cam belt service and new rear pads & discs done. Time to start making piles of stuff in places that annoy SWMBO, in readiness for the off.

If only I could think of something useful to type here!! :(

Nothing terminal on the tangerine machine, and not actually damaged (unlike Si’s sump guard!)
we strongly suspect in tank fuel pump, but it did it in a convenient place........... :o :o

I’ll let Clive post up the vid when he’s finished compiling it. 👍

A common phrase was... “it’s a lane that just keeps giving!”
Just as you finish one challenge, around the corner is another!
It is by far, the toughest lane Any of us have driven and absolute credit to Clive for spotting us through with no punctures.
Gaz and Mike had to shoot in front to try to get their ferry a day early. Christ knows how they made it, but they did!
With our 19” tyres, we were considerably slower than the big tyre brigade, but if it wasn’t for the breakdown, would have got through fine under our own steam. :thumbright:

Another year...

It is always the part you don't have that fails - law of Sod! And nearly always small enough and cheap enough to carry - but never thought about!

The track in question was 12.25 miles from start to finish and we started it at 10:30. Even if the Tangerine Machine hadn't given up, it would have been getting on for 19:30 before we'd reached the end...it was just a phenomenal track.

Wikiloc TrailRank is 43/50 and given a Very Difficult rating for technical difficulty...they're not bloody wrong!!!

Going through my pics from the trip today and will post some more up but, as usual, they just don't do the tracks any justice. I was in awe of a Disco's ability before we went but wow, I have a new-found respect for these vehicles now!!!

Simon, I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures - what I've seen so far almost has me wanting to get a D4.....
