I would avoid Wales at all costs. (I'm meant to be going there with some Scouts, I don't want my break ruined!)

Forest of Dean, home of Wilbert the Forest Engine, plenty of scenery, small steam railway, maze, mine workings.

Woodhall Spa, Lincs, near Battle of Britain flight base, not to mention Skeggy

We however are spending two weeks and 2200 miles around Ypres/Germany/Prague. :D
