Hello stranger :) Yes, that'll be the actuator motor wearing out, possibly due to a dusty mechanism making it work extra hard - I recommend that you unscrew the black plastic strip that goes over the top of the lower tailgate edge now whilst you still can - just 4 screws. It can't come off yet as it has the lower tailgate release button on it, but it can be loose without issues. This way if it totally fails before the new actuator arrives it won't risk getting broken as you try and get into the tailgate to release it, as you can easily lift it without the screws in place.
Mine failed completely by metal fatigue after being slow for some time and my top trim shattered when I tried to get the rear carpet panel out from under it :'(

Although the vid was Clive's, I did have an issue with it being slow before it failed, so still a good memory Mark :thumbright:

It's very erratic already - sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't.

I'll try and un do the screws :whistle:
