Discovery 3 2.7 HSE Front Differential Slack

Post by Strish » Sun Jun 10, 2018 1:33 pm

Hi looking for any advice, I have just removed the auto gearbox to get it and the torque converter overhauled (rev counter fluctuating). At the same time checked the input shafts into the differentials, the rear has no rotational slack, whereas the front has a lot of slack when alternating the rotation.

Can someone let me know if this is normal on the front diff, before I get carried away and pull it out/replace?

I would say it should have little slack. But don't know for sure.
