My cable is sticking so was thinking about replacing it but was put off as the vehicle end sits behind the side panels.
Is it easy to get at?
Thanks.

Hi morseman2003
Did you have to remove any interior trim to access the recoil end of the cable. My cable is about to snap also and I am dreading having to take off the boot interior side trim. Thanks

Re: Rear Tailgate Support Cable
My cable is just a bit slow to return so I’ve put off doing for exactly the same reason that having taken off the side panel on my D3 previously, it was never quite the same when I put it back together.Best whippet wrote:Hi morseman2003

Re: Rear Tailgate Support Cable
Ok guys
I’ve been on to two parts suppliers and I’m being told it’s the cable is integral to the spool behind the interior panel. Had to bite the bullet and order one. £52 including delivery. I now imagine the hard part is getting access to it now.
