They definitely monitor forums, eBay and autotrader. It's mostly done on telephone number and email scanning in adverts. If it pops up a lot, they start to look.

Somebody I know got investigated as a car dealer as a result of selling lot's of cars and his number popping up a lot.

It doesn't matter what the figure really is, if HMRC suspect something they will investigate and you need to prove you're innocence.

I think they'll be others in the D3 world on the list before Bodsy..... Many on other forums would be first inline.... I wouldn't want to be on any Site supporters list to be honest. Many people making money and not declaring it, so easy to spot.

Tbh though, HMRC are not worried about small fry for the odd few 000's. it takes £40k to 'launch' and investigation into Ltd Co's and people... So they need to make sure they get payback, plenty of easy Essex types out there to grab :whistle:
