Abingdon 4x4 Festival 24th / 25th Sept

Post by Stu » Fri Aug 26, 2011 9:40 pm

Right guys, who is interested in going to Abingdon. I won't be there but I thought I'd get a signup sorted. I think this will have to be a members only event because of our public liability insurance. (Assuming you're going on the club stand) if not then you can just go as a punter anyway.

All proceeds go to Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, and other Local Charities.
The blurb on the site says:

We probably have the best Non-Damaging Off Road Course in the country. But we also have…..

Weekend Camping available
Refreshments available all weekend
On-site Licensed Bar
Auto Jumble
A wide variety of Trade Stands
Children’s Entertainment
Mini Land Rovers
New to it? Have a ride in one of our 4x4’s!
Or use one of our “Off Road Driving Advisors”
Public Viewing Areas for the off road climax
A full weekend of Arena Displays & Activity
A wide variety of Club Stands
On-site Photography
Live Music Friday night all day Saturday
Car Accident rescue display by Fire Service
On-site Jet wash
Coverage by press and local radio
And Much Much More

So who is up for it. I could possibly make the Sunday, but I cannot make the Saturday due to a prior engagement.

A day pass is £15
A weekend pass including camping from 4pm on Friday is £35

This event has only just become available again as there was some issues with the site. As such the club hasn't appointed anyone to run the event, but I'm sure we will very shortly.

OK well off road, on road or any other climax has got to be a good enough reson to go.. And as it's local to me and a charity as well hope to be there for the weekend - and signed up accordinglt. It was a good laugh last year as it wasn't all formal and was friendly enough. And the offroad course was quite challenging without being damaging - good enough for the occassional D4 & Range Rover drivers even.... :rasp: .

Whose got the event gazebo....... :sofa:
