Lake District camping and laning

Got an idea for an event, want to see an event run that is currently run. Any discussions prior to an event being launched as an official event should go in here.

Lake District camping and laning

Post by Blacknsilver3 » Mon Feb 03, 2014 6:07 pm

Strike while the iron is hot. Anyone fancy this over one of the bank holidays?

Good Friday April 18
Easter Monday April 21
Early May Bank Holiday May 5
Spring Bank Holiday May 26
Summer Bank Holiday August 25

Grizdale area has some great lanes. Fantastic area for family and loads to do.

It would be nice to do it when warm. Evening BBQs. A days laning. Afternoon in the beer garden. Drive around some of the Lakes. Steam boat ride. The list can go on. Ullswater is beautiful. Grizdale area is again fab.

Any thoughts please shout out.

Also caters for the folks not wanting to tent it.

Same for me, depending on the dates I'd be very interested in this. Fabulous part of the world.

quite tempted as I could stop with my old man and drag him round the lanes ......... it does break a rule I made about never going to the lakes on a bank holiday ever again tho

Actually I'm with benp on this, the lakes and bank holidays are mental, might be best to do a non bank holiday weekend.

Not a bad shout. I only thought that there would be more time to do stuff than just the lanes. I would travel up at the evening before to try and miss traffic.
But I am easy on when it is. Dates aren't a problem. Got my olds mans 65th in June and Centre parks in 7 weeks 2 days. (Not that I'm counting!)
