Swanage 2011 Camping/Caravan Weekend 6th/7th Aug

Post by Neild » Sat Jan 08, 2011 2:40 pm

Ala 2010 really.....

We all had a GREAT weekend at the Swanage Festival 2010 and there is talk of doing it all again this year.

Ideally it would be good to coincide with the Red Arrow Display which should be the 6/7th August 2011 - Red Arrows are NOT confirmed yet but they have been on the final weekend most years.

Carnival lasts 2 weeks I think. Previous thread is based here: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=933&start=210" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

All Caravans and tents will try and be located together in one group. Site TBA but it will be a high quality site near Swanage with all pitches having electric and some with mains water etc.

So, room for loads!, be good to beat last years turn out :popcorn: Of course more details in due course as we go through the year.

There will be options for longer breaks, I'd imagine we'd go for a fair few nights to explore the locality once more. Most will do Friday and Sat night, others might do 4 or 5 nights. I'll sort individual people nights near the time, please just sign up to give us a better idea of attendees.

There might be a possibility of a Club Charter around the coastline with a possible charter to be in the bay when the display is on 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) :shark: :shark: :shark:

Firework info: http://www.swanagecarnival.com/fireworks.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Perhaps we could volunteer Bigcarpchaser as the Carnival Queen?

Unfortunately we wont be able to make it this year as I am in Namibia and Alex is photographing a wedding on the 6th. If people are think of making a longer trip this weekend is the last weekend of a week long carnival, if you want tomdo that it's best to book accommodation soon as it can book up quick.

We did a quick look round other sites last year and there are not that many Who could accomdate tents and vans together and in large number unless you go further out from Swanage, the place you staid last year is one of the few. Its a shame we can not make it, maybe have to sort another camping weekend another time of the year
