Swapped my wheels

Post by Stu » Sat Mar 12, 2016 8:10 pm

I swapped my wheels on Friday from BFG 17" miss to 19" Goodyear winters (it's what you need when the weather improves :headbang: )

Anyway did about 300 miles on them and I think there is about 4mpg difference which is about 15% more economical.

I recon my BFG's are about 2mpg worse than the ATR's - though hard to tell with all the :censored: that tends to go with the requirement for the Muds! Wouldn't say 4mpg though.

After new torque convertor I think my mpg is up 15 - 20%. Only done one long run in her but loaded up to max weight so not representative, will be interesting when I head back pretty much empty. :thumbright:

If only I could think of something useful to type here!! :(

I'll have to see after a few weeks. I'm not bothered about it. I didn't buy a D3 because of its impressive mpg figures. Also sticking a rack on and A bar and Winch probably don't help!

I keep records of mine simply because its a good indicator of other things - like brake binding and the like.

Also interesting how different weather and road services make a difference - last year my run to Austria and back I averaged over 26 - despite 6up and a roof box.
