Raised air intake, snorkel

Post by vinnyp » Mon Aug 03, 2015 8:32 pm

So I treated by self to a Land Rover d3 snorkel at billing. The instructions are rubbish, anyone got any tips or a video on how to do it or it it one of them things I should not attempt as a DIY

Easy to fit.

But you need the right drill bits for the mounts in the pillars - several on here have fitted them - I helped John (JFLux) fit his and is straight forward enough,

Pulling the grille off the wing is probably the most difficult bit of the job!!

Found a vid of that on YouTube, brute force seems the way. The instructions are confusing, it shows a 9mm and 9.5mm drill bit for the same hole. I thought there would have been a how to somewhere, been searching for hours

Isn't there an official fitting guide on LRs own techinfo site?

Measure twice, then measure again before cutting, make sure the rivnut you're preparing for will only just fit through the drill hole you're going to make.
Then you'll be good :thumbright: :thumbright:

Good luck!
