Ipad 2 / Ram Mount "How To", the Difinative Guide
With Special thanks to Garry / KingMav for pointing me into the correct direction.
Ok, I wanted my Ipad 2 at hand for Satnav/Memory Map/Music/Videos for the rear seat passengers via the GVIF. The great way to do this is by intigrating the Ram Mount products into the D3 which are easily removed within seconds.
Items Purchased from:
Ram Mount Items are all from this Seller
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mfauls?_trksid=p2047675.l2559" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
RLD Seat Base Ball, copy and paste link
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/member-rld.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Part Numbers for Ram Mount Items, ensure everyhthing you order has 1.5" Balls or sockets to Suit
Ipad Holder, RAM-HOL-AP8U
APMS Round Base, RAM-202 *Note*, you need 2.5" Base with a 1.5" Ball
Double Ball, RAM-230U
Long Arms x 2, RAM-201U-D
How To Fit
1. Move Passenger seat to its furthest point back to allow access, this piece of trim on the end of the rail needs removing. Theres a metal clip on the inside, so a swift tug towards the door ensures it becomes free
Removed
2. This then exposes the one screw at the front of the rail. Its a T50 Torx Bit and has thread lock on the thread so takes some shifting. Ones its off add the RLD Ball, Ray supplies a new longer bolt with the mount.
Use the bolt provided, and ensure you dab some thread lock on the thread as its also the seat base mount bolt.
3. Move to the Ipad Holder, Mines a Ipad 2......just make sure your'es is compatable.
Rear, you'll notice the 2 round mounting points. These are the Ram Mount APMS holes where you add the Ball and mount system, the base holes are 2.5" in diameter, so thats the size base you need with a 1.5" Ball
4. Add the APMS Mount and Ball to the Ipad Mount, nuts and bolts are provided
APMS Ball
Added to Ipad Holder
5. Now add 1 of the long arms to the Ipad holder
6. Now Add the Double Ball to the other end of the Long Arm
7. Add the Other Long Arm to the double Ball
8. Attach whole RAM MOUNT system to the RLD Mount, and before tightening the arms ensure its in the angle you require
Job Done

My Parrott Bluetooth kit....better than OEM kit. Countrywide ages ago helped me with the LR logo as wallpaper, so that looks OEM when its on.

No problem Jase
You're right about doing these how-to's. It's not just about us present members, but also the uninitiated future members
