Well no midges yet Del but we are only in the borders. Also no data signal worth talking about so I can't upload photos at the moment. Tonight's "campsite" is on a hill overlooking a loch. The view is pretty stunning however the field is very wet and I suspect the entrance will be well and truly churned up by the time everyone arrived.

We were the last to leave the site this morning as we offered to help with the gate and we were the first to arrive. I'm not too sure what all the defner boys were doing but whatever it was it was well below the speed limit. We stopped 3 times and didn't break the limit and we are still at least 2 hours ahead of the main group.

A very good year for midges I'm told by a Scottish resident colleague of mine and he maintains that they prefer the blood of an Englishman

They know not what they face. These wee insects gargle with DEET, use Raid as air freshener and sharpen their teeth on mossie nets. They are a true top level pest. :thumbright:

Does not look good south of Fort Billy, level 5 is a serious matter!!

Gorgeous part of the world.

U lot heading straight back or want to take the true scenic route back, true Gods' country? Head back via Tongue, Cape Wrath, Stoer, Achiltiebuie, Lochinver, Ullapool, Gairloch, etc. Will truely be the cherry on the cake. Well worth considering as it's the most scenic route in the country. Will blow your minds. :thumbright:
