Fridge Slide
Well as I have some time on my hands at the moment I thought I'd revisit something I started earlier in the year. So knocked this up this afternoon.
It needs finishing obviously and it also needs raising a little as the fridge tray hits the tailgate when it slides out. I also think I'll figure out a way to bolt it onto the eye bolts that are in the boot. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it.

Re: Fridge Slide
Might need some ventilation holes drilled in the box to help get rid of the heat the fridge generates. Especially since the closed tailgate will block off that route for heat to escape.
PS Just worked out there is no back to the box, that'll help.

Re: Fridge Slide
Nope it will overheat. Needs holes. Lots of them
Trouble is, that the expelled air is hot and then recirculates back into the fridge to cool it down and as its hot it can't, so the compressor works harder, generates more heat etc etc.

Re: Fridge Slide
ISTR an Aussie D3 got burned out because the fridge couldn't breath, it had been sealed in with stuff. It just pulled more & more current to try & keep up until the wiring failed. Then it's BBQ time.

Re: Fridge Slide
I'm sure it will have more airflow round it in the box than it does during my normal packing!

Re: Fridge Slide
I can't remember why the slides were. I bought them ages ago for this project! I could certainly do some slots or holes it's no big deal. I am intending / think of covering it with car carpet. Not too sure about that idea. Failing that I'll spray it and probably lacquer it. If you really want to know about the runners I'll try and look up where I got them.
