If that doesn't work out, this bad boy could be the start of something awesome...though the 35kg leisure battery to drive it could ruin the svelte line of your trousers

Edit : Oooops, my bad, this is buck converter is step down only; you'd need a step up/down type to get to 19V.

I use these to take 12v to 48v for some of our remote POE kit. Can be set to any output voltage. Been very good so far, and cheap!

Might get a bit warm!

Awww, Rich, you beat me to it - though mine's for the big boys as it has no fuse :rasp:

They are really good! I have used them for all sorts of things. Better than inverting up to mains and then down again...

So....my plan isn't coming to fruition, can't find a laptop that does what I need so may keep the big one.
Plan B
115a leisure battery
Some croc clips with fag lighter thing
One of these

Won't break the bank, won't run the car battery down.

Thoughts?

One of these might be easier

Think the former will work better - though you might need the latter if you leave it on too link - 200W at full power is 15A or so - so will discharge your typical battery to a no start level in about 4 or 5 hours I would think.

I only need a couple extra hours, cheers Mark. Reckon I'm good now.
