Having looked at where it is in relation to space, I think its safe to say it will be going back where it came from :thumbright:

Even if you could move it up, it would then be in front of the radiators for the AC and coolant, as well as the oil cooler pipe for the gearbox (I assume!) and as it is as thick as the two sandwiched radiators - there is no room in front, unless you hacked out the back of the grill. And then the cooling effect to the radiators will be restricted.

As for batteries, my main camera battery lasts for about 4000 shots - longer if its a continuous stint :rasp: So I should be ok.

But yes, I do intend documenting it all for later abuse when you lot tell me I could have done it a different way

Shame! I thought the Allisport one was larger too so the oem move would be less problematic. Oh well, thanks for looking :thumbright:

Just for the record - I won't be giving any abuse what so ever...

However, I will be checking the Durler thread to make sure you are coming...you can then do mine whilst you are over...

You need to:

1. Take the grill and headlights out

2. Undo at the least the front part of the wheel arch 'eyebrows' - they're held in by a screw behind the headlight

3. Take off the front bumper skin - the plastic bit - remember the washer fluid tank is in there so get a bucket ready to catch the fluid when you disconnect the hose. Also remember to unplug the front fogs / PDC if you've got them

4. Take off the metal bumper itself

5. Take off the small metal 'bashplate' (in front of the sump plate) plus the two little radiator shields - the one on the nearside has a metal skin for the FBH pipe.

6. Take off the plastic guard cowl that is in front of the IC - there are two 8mm nuts near the headlights. The nearside one is a complete :censored: to get on and off - just be patient

7. At the bottom of the IC are two small push in 'U' clips - remove these (although one of mine was already broke)

8. Undo the IC hoses either side and pull the IC off.

If you're not fitting a new one then cover the IC outlets and soak for a long time...... my original is still soaking some weeks on....

And to quote Haynes 'refitting is the reverse of removal........'

I had one sheared bolt I had to use a stud extractor on and I already had some spare plastic trim clips.

I started about 11am I think (I'll know when I get the pictures on the PC.

I'm having a coffee cos, I'd got stuck at No.6 - and thought I'd better read this thread again :thumbright:

So now I need to go back to 5, then carry on!

Must have dropped about a ton of mud on the drive so far! :surprise:

Are you on jacks, ramps or on the floor?

Think I might need to have a go at this, my MPG has dropped considerably since getting dirty at Yarwell!

seeing as I gave up at step 5 over the summer, I'm eagerly awaiting the pics to see how I should have got those covers off...and to be sure I was actually trying to take off the right covers in the first place...

Hrmmm I wondering that too. I know I'm now running MTR's but I'm down to 350 miles per tank full  Either that or the EGR's....
