A dangerous topic guys. Even Bodsy would feel nervous over this. The Customs & Excise are watching.

It's HMRC these days but I don't believe Bodsy did anything for money - he was helping out a friend! :)

Yep, so was I. I've discussed it with Bodsy already and someone finds pleasure in telling fibs. Took a lengthy process to prove I wasn't committing VAT fraud and didn't earn over the threshold.

I was informed they will be monitoring here and over there, so adverse attention isn't good at the moment.

Jason not sure how someone with a full time job and family commitments could run another business that turned over more than £76,000 a year. (Which is roughly the current VAT registration threshold) by helping people out with some car issues, even if he was charging for it.

Au contraire mon ami Ben. That Bodsy bloke helped me enormously with my D3 and wouldn't take a penny for his efforts.

Which reminds me, I need a reversing cam fitting. Must ask the Bodmeister at the next MAM. :thumbright:

Oh, the bit about HMRC monitoring forums........Well, with SWMBO being a Payroll Manager and therefore having to talk to them on an all too frequent basis, I have it on very good authority that they wouldn't possibly find the time to monitor the tens of thousands of forums in the UK.

I know Stu. But somebody lied and informed HMRC I was charging VAT, doesn't take too long to work out who.

Anyway, I know they are watching and I told Bodsy privately at the time and also gave him the info he needs.

Remember its not a case nowadays of you're innocent, if you've been accused and they deem fit to investigate you indeed get the knock on the door.
