I got the warning lite and yesterday took off the wheels to check. There is still a lot of meat on my brake pads. I read on other places that you can bypass the sensors by joing the wires together?
I have done this, now at least the alarm has gone quiet, but I still get the alarm on the dashboard lights. Any help to reset would be appreciated

Re: Brake disc sensor
Is it not the other way around. Don't the sensors make a ground contact with the disk to give the warning light so I would think leaving them open circuit would work

Re: Brake disc sensor
No, there is a metal clip at the end of the wire that joins the two ends together and if that touches the disc it shorts it to earth - and eventually wears through becoming open circuit. Either way it puts the warning light on.Globetrotter wrote: ↑Fri Apr 13, 2018 4:06 amIs it not the other way around. Re: Brake disc sensor
You can either join the wires or use a paper clip to bridge them.
i joined and sealed mine about 10 years back - still going strong.
