D3 Rear propshaft
Some advice please? I'm getting conflicting advice about my rear propshaft centre bearing. One Indie (He and his partner both Land Rover trained 18+ years) say they can replace it and have done many without any subsequent problems. Others say don't do it but replace the whole prop shaft. What's the consensus? Has anyone had the centre bearing replaced? Am i asking for early failure if I replace just the bearing? I would appreciate advice from anyone with experience of repairing/replacing.

Re: D3 Rear propshaft
The general concensus is to replace it rather than repair.
The reason being is that getting the bearing back on and recrimped is very hard without the proper stuff.
Changing the lot means you have some warranty and is a dam sight quicker. And the props aren’t that expensive. I seem to remember?

..and the front and rear UJ's are likely past their best too.
Mine were both notchy and needed replacing when I changed to a GKN from JGS 4x4.
Worth taking a look at their website.
